Willow Tree® is an intimate line of figurative sculpture that speaks in quiet ways to heal, comfort, protect and inspire. Pieces are cast from original carvings by Susan Lordi, and then individually painted by hand in softly washed colours. Expression is revealed through gestures only…a tilt of the head, placement of the hands, a turn of the body. Simplicity of form and the absence of facial features signify Willow Tree. Many of Susan’s new sculptures are about love – sharing love, being surrounded by love and experiencing love – with all its universal appeal. Her classic forms and gestures are Willow Tree’s signature style, but her carving technique and use of new materials and finishes are ever-evolving… These gifts are so meaningful to both the giver and the receiver.
